Three of the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath’s poems, “Koni”, Phaki”, and “Camelia” find their way to cinematic adaptation. As has been put forth, “Phaki” and “Camelia” have been transformed into “Binu” and “Kamala” on-screen. The mood sets with “Koni”, which tells the story of love, longing and separation between two childhood characters, Koni and her Amal da. She then moves on to “Kamala” a story of an artist, Sreeparno, in pursuit of his Kamala, who he had chanced upon in the 9.45 am tram. The climax comes in the form of “Binu”, which is the love story of a couple. Binu has little time to live and her husband tries his best to keep her content in her last days.
