Indian Army sepoy, Tarun Chauhan (Bobby Deol), is ordered to proceed to the Northeastern part of India that has been rocked by riots and violence. He has to report to his superior, Havaldar Mohammed Ali (Ajay Devgan). At the front it is quiet for weeks, followed by sporadic violence and casualties on both sides, before war finally breaks out between India and Pakistan. Their platoon is ordered to go to Kargil and take charge of a strategic bridge that has to be protected. This is where Tarun faces his biggest challenge, one that will decide his fate.
