A story within a story, the movie moves back and forth from the past to the present. Jayaram and Parvathy were in love and planned to get married. But the village local goons attack the couple and try to molest Parvathy. In the tussle Jayaram accidentally kills the goons. When Jayaram serves jail, Parvathy is married off to a rich kind-hearted handicapped Soman. Jayaram is unable to stomach this information and is on the lookout to kill her.
