Balraj (Amrish Puri) promises his dying boss that he'd look after his orphaned grandson, Nihal (Milind Gunaji) and shower him with affection as much as his own daughter, Komal (Twinkle Khanna). One day, Balraj witnesses a strong righteous man named Raj (Akshay Kumar) protecting the honour of a woman unknown to him. Impressed with his heroic deed, Balraj hires him as Komal's bodyguard. But what he doesn't know is that Raj is, in fact, trying to find Nihal with an intention of killing him. Why is Raj seeking revenge? What will Balraj do when he finds out?
