Doctor Baldev (Suresh) hailing from a middle-class family marries a rich woman named Rekha (Shashikala). While she is willing to make adjustments to fit into her new family, Baldev feels guilty for giving her a life devoid of comforts. He instigates her to neglect her duties, and takes her to parties and outings. The blame of his changing attitude is put on Rekha. As a result, she suggests moving out of the house, thus starting a cold war among the family members. Matters keep escalating until Baldev's younger brother (Dharmendra) is forced to intervene.
